Merry Christmas!
Well today is the day. I think that I started counting down to today about a month ago on this blog. With the exception of a couple of sporting events I have made a Christmas related post every day for that month. The lights of the season are a welcome sight shortly after the leaves are off of the trees. A little bit of color in the winter is not a bad thing. If it were up to me I would leave the lights up all year long. The best part of most of these photos was that they were made as part of a family outing. Sometimes I would sneak back to a place when less people were around, but the photos were usually made with the direction of one of my little ones. I can’t wait to do this all again next year. Although in a perfect world we would keep this same spirit the entire year instead of a few sale days ahead of the holidays.
This Year’s Movie
Every year I have a little fun picking a Christmas movie to be on the television in the background. I have enjoyed putting some of my favorite movies on at a moment that I really enjoy. For fun this year I had originally thought about using Die Hard. I thought the comments section might like that one. As a family we watched the movie Spirited, and that honestly was going to be the movie until last night. I started watching the movie Prancer and thought that it was perfect for this little project. Parts of the movie were filmed in my hometown of LaPorte, Indiana. The scene on the television was one of those. You see a part of the mall that I grew up in just behind them. If you look close enough during that scene you can see some people that I know. (Although if you don’t know them it will be much harder for you to pick out the people that I know.) Watching the movie I could pick out familiar places, and the nostalgia seemed just about perfect for the holidays. If you haven’t seen the movie it is a fun little movie that is currently on HBO as I write this.
A Little Break
This is the last ‘live’ post for a while. When things are going good in a perfect world I am writing the next days blog post the night before. Sometimes I hope to be out making photos when the post goes live. Unless something really amazing comes along for the next couple of weeks the posts are already written. Once the beginning of the year comes around you will have two posts a day for a couple of weeks as the best of posts really kick in. With the change of the year I like to give myself a little head start. Tomorrow we start things off with a reflection photo that I really enjoyed making. I hope that they holidays are everything that you want them to be, and that you are spending it with those that you love.
Beautiful! Thanks for the movie suggestion. Yesterday radio show “This American Life” had a segment on movie “it’s a wonderful life” where they also referenced “die hard.”
Enjoy your little break!
Merry merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you too
