Photo of the Day
This is the 500th post of this blog. It was just over a year ago that I started it, and I am really seemingly cranking these posts out. I thought that this one was a great picture for number five hundred because I really like it. I was eating in Hooper’s Crab House in Ocean City, Maryland when I noticed a slightly pink sky out of the deck that you see above. If that was the case behind the sunset the sky must have been brilliant the other way. I quickly picked up my camera, and stepped out for a minute. I did not have my tripod as I was eating so I had to handhold this shot. When I looked at the back of my camera after taking the shot I knew that I had a winner. This was one of my favorites from the trip for sure. This should have been the photo of the day for that day, but I couldn’t get my edited version over to my iPad without a proper internet connection. I knew though that it would be on this site before too long.
Technical Data
This was a three shot HDR image that I made using exposures of -2, 0, and +2. I took the 32 bit file before tonemapping, and sent it back into Lightroom so that I could use the sliders there. I really took my time on this one getting everything where I thought that it was just right. I really think that a shot like this is the perfect time to use HDR, and I am glad that I was able to capture a beautiful sunset that I never planned to get. Sometimes the unplanned shots end up the best. I will have a couple more pictures from Hooper’s that night on this blog before too long I imagine.

Congratulations on your 500th post! The colours are great 🙂 I particularly love the splash of yellow in the reflection and on the walkway.
