West Lafayette Wins Big On Senior Night
Friday night I was back at Gordon Straley Field for their senior night game. My job was to make photos of senior night for the band, but the game was also fun to photograph. One of my favorite photos of the night was this one of a running back coming right at me during blue hour. There were times when things did not work out well for me, but here things did at the right time of the night.
Having Some Pregame Fun
I took my 24mm f/1.4 to the game thinking that I could play around with it during pregame. I had a couple of ideas to try, but the punter was just in too good of a place not to make this photo. West Side doesn’t punt very often either so this is a good opportunity to make a photo. He also wears a great number.
No Luck Turns Into Great Luck
From square one of a pick six I watched it unfold with players screening me from the action. I never was able to make a clear photo the entire way into the end zone. Those are frustrating moments. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was however in the perfect spot for this celebration photo after the play. Sometimes things just work out.
Friday Night Light
My favorite photos with the light from Friday were with the opponent in them. Sometimes the field is just flipped the wrong way. It was great light though so I stopped and had some fun trying to make some cool photos.
