Acrobatics For Dinner

This downy woodpecker was really stretching to find some food out at the Celery Bog. I have seen them contort to get into a hole before, but this time it was crazy. I love the body language as well as the tongue going into the hole. These are the little moments that you always want to capture.

A Long Winter

During the winter months the birds are scarce at the Celery Bog. I find myself focusing on birds that I would normally walk right by. I always find time for the downy woodpeckers though. They let me get close, and they are always good for a photo.
