Photo of the Day
Yesterday I was on the campus of Purdue making some pictures. I actually had hoped that the color would have been a bit better, but you have to take what mother nature gives you. The whole family was with me enjoying a beautiful fall day on campus. This was the first time that my daughter has been on the grounds of Purdue, and I am sure that it won’t be the last. Over the next week or so I might make a couple more trips to campus to see what I can find. The leaves seem to be close to peaking, and I want to make a few nice images before the color is drained from the landscape. This is a beautiful time of year, but it means that winter is almost here as well.
Technical Data
Here I thought that HDR might be the way to go, but I really did not like the look that it gave me. I took the metered exposure of my bracket and made a couple of subtle adjustments to get a shot that I thought represented what I saw in real life. A slight highlights adjustments adds some flavor back to the scene. I also played around with the vibrance slider. I don’t like using the saturation slider because I feel it is too much. The vibrance slider though can give a nice look. I had this cranked way up for a while before dialing it down just before exporting the file. Sometimes subtlety is okay.

Love the way it turned out.
Thank you very much
