What Do You Believe?

Photo of the Day

This has been a week of sports stars facing reality. To start the week I saw baseball’s hit king look terrible on his reality show. He is once again trying to come clean about betting on baseball. Of course everyone knows about Lance Armstrong’s interview with the great and powerful Oprah that airs tonight. He finally will admit what everyone already knows. It seems as if everyone comes clean and stories break when the facts are already out there in some form. That is what made this news yesterday out of South Bend so powerful. The great story of the college football season was a sham. Manti Te’o became a media darling and Heisman Trophy runner up partly because of the story of his grandmother and girlfriend dying within hours of each other. Manti took the field a couple of days later, and had a great game. Notre Dame had a great season (until the title game). All of that came crashing down when Deadspin broke the internet and the story yesterday. It is hard to shock America, but yesterday we found out that yet again you can. Who knows where this will end up, but I think that the story is far from over.

I took this photo prior to the Notre Dame game against Purdue this past season. Of course every trip to Notre Dame is not complete without a visit to the library to see ‘Touchdown Jesus.’ I wanted to give the picture another try with my wide angle lens. That would allow me to get enough of the picture in without getting too many people in the shot. I really need to try and get this shot on a day when it is not game day. That way I can get the shot that I want.

Technical Data

The biggest edit here was the crop to make the picture a bit more square. I did mess with the highlights a bit, but for the most part this was a quick and easy edit. With a RAW file you have to edit every picture, but I was pretty happy with the results right out of the camera.
