Designed By Scholer – The Fountain County Courthouse

The Fountain County Courthouse

When I was coming up with this theme this week I knew that I wanted to highlight the buildings that Walter Scholer designed. Many of the iconic buildings on the campus of Purdue were his responsibility. Many iconic buildings in Lafayette were his as well. I then started to find buildings all over the state that he had a hand in designing. When I made this photo in 2024 I had no idea who designed the courthouse. It was far different from most of the courthouses that I photographed that year. Now that I know who designed it though it makes a lot of sense. This has a similar look to a few of his designs in Lafayette.

Designed By Scholer

This week the theme will be buildings that were designed by Walter Scholer. The look of the campus of Purdue is directly related to Walter Scholer planning how campus should be laid out. His designs have become iconic in both West Lafayette and Lafayette. This week I am going to look at a few of the buildings that he designed.
