The Steamboat Barn On The Mavica
This photos shows up on this list for a couple of reasons. The first is that it is a photo that I like of the iconic Steamboat barn. With the way that the area has grown up this view is not the same anymore. This is a moment in time. Our family made some great vacation memories here, and my brother met his wife and got married here. It is a place that holds a special place in my heart.
The other reason that this photo shows up here is that it was made with the old Sony Mavica digital camera. This little digital camera re-ignited my love of making photos. You got about 17-20 photos on a floppy disk. That meant that if you wanted to make a few photos at an event that you would need a lot of floppies on you. I started wearing cargo pants for this reason. The unused floppies were in the left pocket, and when I filled them up they came out of the camera and into the right pocket. I would start the day heavy on the left side and end it heavier on the right side. This one photo can help explain quite a bit about me.
50 For 50
This is going to be a crazy theme. For the next fifty days I plan on posting a photo of a place that has some meaning to me. Last August I came up with a theme for a week showing some Purdue memories. At the end of this fifty days I will turn fifty. I thought that it would be fun to take a look back at some places that bring back memories for me. This can’t be an all inclusive list, but one that I hope will be fun for you as well as me.
