When Home Video Was Amazing

I don’t know that kids today realize just how cool it is to see movies at home. In the early 1980’s it changed everything. This location used to be a video rental place called The Anderson Tapes. It was fairly expensive to rent a movie, and maybe my memory is wrong but I think it was like $80 to buy a movie at the time. We had a VCR very early on. It was so cool to get to see movies a second time after the theaters. Of course at my age I always wanted to rent Star Wars, Indiana Jones, or Superman. The fact that you could see the theatrical cut of a film again and not the made for TV version was pretty cool. Now you just fire up your device and watch a movie. Back then though you had to get out and hope that they had the movie that you wanted to see.

50 For 50

This is going to be a crazy theme. For the next fifty days I plan on posting a photo of a place that has some meaning to me. Last August I came up with a theme for a week showing some Purdue memories. At the end of this fifty days I will turn fifty. I thought that it would be fun to take a look back at some places that bring back memories for me. This can’t be an all inclusive list, but one that I hope will be fun for you as well as me.
