Photographing A Culligan Building

There are not many times that I will stop and photograph a Culligan soft water building, but this building had so much character I couldn’t help myself. Not only did I take the time to photograph the building, but I turned my car around and drove back to this spot so that I could get out and make this photo. As my photography grows over time I surprise myself at what I will stop and photograph.

Deadpan Photography

I watched a video on YouTube recently about a kind of photography called deadpan. The photo in the thumbnail caught my eye, and now I might know why. Deadpan photography is a kind of photography that takes all the emotion out of the photo. If you know me then you know that I love emotion in my sports photos and even in everyday photos. Making a photo with little to no emotion though can also be satisfying. I think that some of my recent work in small towns could be considered deadpan.
