The LaPorte County Library
This is the first Carnegie Library that I would have seen. It is funny that it took me so long in my Carnegie project to realize that. That might be at the heart of my Carnegie Library project in fact. I am trying to find a childhood memory in every town that I visit. This is the building where I first found out that with a simple card I could read as much as I wanted. I really got into the Hardy Boys books as a third grader. I would read one a day. At $6 a book it didn’t make sense to buy them all. Going to the library allowed me to read as fast as I wanted with little to no cost. This is a beautiful library, and it makes sense to include a Carnegie Library on this countdown.
50 For 50
This is going to be a crazy theme. For the next fifty days I plan on posting a photo of a place that has some meaning to me. Last August I came up with a theme for a week showing some Purdue memories. At the end of this fifty days I will turn fifty. I thought that it would be fun to take a look back at some places that bring back memories for me. This can’t be an all inclusive list, but one that I hope will be fun for you as well as me.
