Seeing The Who Is The Sky Tour In Person
Friday night we went to Indy to see David Byrne. I have seen him before, but in a festival setting. This was the second time on this tour that my wife has seen this show, and she highly recommended it. She also bought us tickets in the balcony because of the visual nature of the show. That was the place to be. When we were planning this evening we called what we were attending a concert. I never once felt like I was at a concert during the show. It felt like it was many things put together. I have really never seen anything like it. I will see something like it again when I go and see David again though. This was enjoyable on many levels in a way that I didn’t expect when I went. If you have a chance go and see this show. Sit up high and enjoy the visuals.
Having Some Fun With The Point And Shoot
My Little Sony RX 100 has seen some concerts over the years. It is a powerful little camera that helps me make some very fun photos when I can’t take my regular gear into a show. It is probably ten years old now, but the results are still pretty good. It is also pretty small allowing me to take it around town without having my huge bag with me. It is kind of nice to travel light every now and then.
Getting Inspired
I always take inspiration in other forms of art. This was such a visual show that it made me want to have some fun with my visuals. Late in the show when everyone was at the front of the stage I made this photo. I had the idea to use the black space to make something interesting. I really liked how this turned out.
Showing Off The Venue
Late in the show when the light from the stage was bathing the crowd as well I made this photo showing off the venue. This is the one time during the night when I wished that I had my 16-35mm lens with me. This is an amazing venue that deserves a cool photo to be made of it. Maybe sometime in the future I can make photos at this place and do this photo properly.
