A Quick Trip To The Celery Bog

Going Back To The Celery Bog

I had not been to the Celery Bog since the first day of the year. In the past I would have walked the trails out there nearly every day. Bird photography is a thing that takes a lot of time to make good images. You have to put in hours to get something that people will notice. I have not really had that bug to get out there. Yesterday I decided to take a walk to see what was happening at the bog. I was photographing a Fox Sparrow on a log when I felt eyes on me. This deer had snuck up on me and was a few yards away just checking me out. I made this photo and my day then changed very quickly.

Leaving In A Hurry

Almost immediately after making this photo I received a text from my oldest. Something was happening at the school and they were being moved over to Mackey Arena. She was calm and so I made a few more photos while listening to an app on my phone to see what was going on. Through that emergency app I realized that they were clearing the high school room by room so my day at the bog was cut very short. I started heading towards Mackey and was able to be one of the first to pick up their kids. It turned out to be a hoax, but it was still a reminder that something is broken that both of my kids had lockdowns yesterday.
