Watching Wrigley Go Purple
In 2010 I went to Wrigley Field to watch Northwestern take on Illinois. This was what I thought at the time was a once in a lifetime experience. Now here we are on the eve of a second game at Wrigley. This time Purdue is involved in it. This is such a cool idea that is made more special by the fact that it doesn’t happen very often. If they play there every year it would become ho-hum. It will be interesting to see how the event is handled differently eleven years later. In 2010 I remember sitting outside of Wrigley waiting to get in listening to Purdue take a very good Michigan State team to task. I really thought that they would pull of the upset that day. This year they took care of Sparty, and now have a cool chance to take care of business inside of a historic stadium. Purdue could change some minds tomorrow.
How Quickly Things Change
When this game was announced it was very exciting. I knew that I would be on the crew to photograph it. Of course if you read the blog you know that I am a big baseball fan, and photographing Purdue in Wrigley would have been amazing. Of course things change quickly, and I will be in West Lafayette when this game is played. It will still be cool to see Purdue play there, but it is a little bittersweet thinking what could have been.
