A Quick Photo Session With An American Goldfinch
This time of year I hate to say it, but the goldfinch is not why I head to the Celery Bog. I am there to see the migrating birds that are moving through. As one group of them came through where I was on the pond Saturday a male and female goldfinch also came though. They were both posing in great light with a beautiful blue sky as the background. Even if you didn’t go to see the bird you had to stop and make a photo.
Making The Most Of The Trip
As I said above I didn’t go there to make goldfinch photos. They hang out at my house in the coneflowers. When they are in such a beautiful spot though you make the photo. One thing that I have learned in bird photography that has helped me in other types of photography is to go with the flow. You can and should have a plan. You also have to know when to go with the flow and adapt. Here it allowed me to make a couple of nice photos.
I love goldfinches.
