A Green Heron Giving The Side Eye
The life of a green heron is all about stealth. Sitting absolutely still waiting for prey to walk in front of it. This reminds me of being in high school and sitting in front of the rib bin at Ponderosa waiting for them to come fill it. Of course I knew that it would happen. This heron never knows when food will pop its head up. Here that literally happened as the frog in the foreground popped up in what could have been a bad spot. This heron though was cool and just acted like it didn’t see it while trying to get closer. Both of these critters made it out of this encounter unscathed though.
A Weird Fall Saturday Morning
Usually Labor Day Weekend is full of football. This year was different. I knew that I didn’t want to stay home so I went out to the Celery Bog hoping to find something good. Luckily for me I stumbled into a few good situations to make photos of. That is just what I needed.
We’re done with football. Too much politics involved. We didn’t bother to get cable when we moved to Arizona and that’s not going to be a problem at all! If I’d liked basketball before, I’d be done with it, too, but I never cared about it, except for March Madness. 😦
