Practicing For The Big Day

Yesterday I thought that it would be a good day to break out my new solar filter for my camera. When the eclipse comes I will want to have used these things enough that I don’t have to think about my settings. It will be all about timing the eclipse. The solstice seemed like a good time to try the thing out. I am glad that I tried this out yesterday because looking at the sky right now I don’t think that I will get a chance to see the sun today.

Get Your Gear Early

During the last eclipse you could not find any kind of solar glasses or filters. I had no plans to make a grand photo, but I realized that I would need to stock up for when totality would be near me. It is a year away, but I am getting what I need now so I am not sweating it next year.
