An Amazing Walk Off Win

In 2016 I was covering my first conference baseball tournament with Dallas Baptists as the favorites to win it. They were really being tested by Southern Illinois early on. That is when catcher Matt Duce inserted himself into the game. He hit two home runs to get DBU within striking distance in the ninth inning. That was major because Matt had yet to hit a home run in his college career before this game. In the ninth inning with the tying run on second base he had yet another chance. He came through with his third home run of the game to give DBU the win. It was a heck of a coming out party with a great celebration to cap it off.

Tournament Baseball

There is nothing quite like photographing tournament baseball. You have all of the things that I love about baseball, but then the emotion gets ratcheted up a couple of notches. That just makes everything better. I can’t wait to get back out there and try it again.
