Saying Goodbye To The Metrodome
In 2009 my friends and I made a road trip to Minneapolis to see the Metrodome one last time. I had already seen a couple of ballgames there when the Sox played up there in 2004. I lived in Iowa at the time and it was an easy trip. I also was able to see the Packers clinch the NFC Central here in 2004. The 2009 trip was about hanging out and watching some baseball. With everything going on right now a baseball road trip with friends sounds so selfish, but also so great. I have not been to the new stadium in Minnesota yet. When everything clears up maybe that should be on the list.
The Little Things
I loved this gift shop/museum next to the Metrodome. These are the little finds that make these types of trips worthwhile. They are great little windows into the fandom of the team. You can also find little bits of things that are super interesting. Give me a rusty awning anytime. There is probably something cool inside.
The View From Our Seats
I used to always make a photo from behind the plate before a game at a new stadium. That is the photo that leads off this post. This was a panoramic view from our seats. This photo is now almost eleven years old. I wish that I had the knowledge that I do now to make some of these photos of buildings that are no longer standing.
