West Lafayette Opens Up Their Home Season With A Win
I am terrible at watching sports now. After photographing them for so long I am terrible watching games. Instead of watching the second half of the Purdue football game I went down to the West Lafayette High School to photograph the women’s basketball home opener. It turned out to be a good decision because I saw some great emotion during the afternoon.
JV Wins A Thriller
I thought that I would be catching the end of varsity game. I would make a few photos for a half or so. When I walked into the gym I realized that a very good JV game was ending. The emotion shown was amazing, and I knew that I was in for a good afternoon.
Back In The Gym
I used to spend a lot of time in this gym. My nephew played for West Side, and I rarely missed a game. With nobody that I know on the teams anymore, and a schedule that is much more full it is hard to get back in there. It is very well lit for a high school gym though. I need to make more photos there this season.

Finding The Emotion
I love capturing emotion. It is the thing that keeps me doing this thing. Capturing action is fun, but the emotion is so much better. An afternoon like this was can really spoil you.
