The Gateway To The Future Arch
I have been working on a project the last few weeks, and one photo was just not happening. I wanted a photo of the gateway to the future arch, but the conditions never worked out for me. Last night I started a walk at the arch, and made my way around campus looking for interesting subjects. At just the right time was made our way back to the arch as the sun started to set. We were treated to a great sunset with amazing colors. I finally had something to work with at the arch, and it was well worth the wait.
Keep It Simple
When I first started making these photos of the arch I had a 10 stop ND filter on my lens along with a polarizer. I had the 17-40mm lens out, then the 11-24mm, before settling on the 24-105mm lens. At the end of the day I just had to point my camera at the arch to make the photo. I didn’t need to do anything fancy. Just push the button.
