Gene Edmonds Invitational

A New Look Lambert Fieldhouse

I love shooting in Lambert Fieldhouse because of all of the history there. Until Mackey Arena was built next door this was the home of Purdue basketball. Now of course it is the home of Purdue track. I have shot a lot of meets in this building, but none for a couple of years. Imagine my surprise when I walked in to see this new track. It really is very nice to look at, but this has to resonate with recruits. The neutral floor is also nice for photography. No crazy color casts.

Getting Low

Late in the meet I sat on the ground and made this photo as one of the athletes was sprinting out of the blocks. Being low is nice, but with the camera on the ground it really made him look larger than life. This was one of my favorite photos of the meet, and I made it almost at the end.

The Week In Photos

You can basically sum up this version of the week in photos into three groups. You have bird photos. You have photos from the on campus memorial for Tyler Trent. And then you have photos from this track meet. It was a good week though, and you can see my favorite photos here.
