The Dark-Eyed Junco
If you have read this blog then you know that I am usually a fan of things of color. I hate to be an elitist, but I don’t pay much attention to things that are grey like this. When I photograph race cars I usually line up shots with the colorful cars in mind. My background is set up to make that color pop. The same goes for birds. Every now and then though a bird will find some good light, and I will make a photo of it. This dark-eyed junco did just that. There is something about this perch that I liked so it makes it onto the blog.
The Benefits Of The Celery Bog
There are multiple reasons why I go out to the Celery Bog. One of them is to refine my long lens technique. Finding and photographing a small bird in a tree with a lot of glass is not easy. On Saturdays the 200 pound players suddenly don’t seem so hard to photograph. It is still not the easiest thing in the world to do, but practice makes perfect they say. The second reason I like my mornings out there is for the walk. I get bored on treadmills and walks easily. So bored that I end up quitting them. With a goal and a photography challenge in mind I walk 3-4 miles without even thinking about it. That makes it all worthwhile.
