West Lafayette Baseball Senior Day

Seeing West Lafayette Baseball Play One Last Time

Monday night I was waiting for softball to start for my oldest when I heard familiar names coming over the PA from Bob Friend Field. I got over there just as they were wrapping up the senior ceremony. This is the last class that played with my nephew, and realistically the last that has players that I know. Late in the day the backlight is amazing at the field so I stayed for the first half inning to make a few pictures before heading back over to watch the softball game as it was getting ready to start. After the softball game was over I came and saw part of the last half inning as well. I wish that I could have gotten down to Bob Friend more this season as the light is usually great.

Low Light And Dirt Can Be Beautiful

One great thing about late games at Bob Friend is the way that the dust kicks up and the light filters through it. This is baseball to me. Most fields I shoot on now are field turf, and not quite as fun that way. Here though you have some great moments created just by the way the light hits the dust.

More Photos From the Game

As I said above I was not at the game for a full inning, but I managed to make some photos that I liked. They can be found here in this unlocked gallery.
