Indiana State Takes Home A Win At Alexander Field
Last night I was back at Alexander Field to photograph the Indiana State Sycamores as they took on the Purdue Boilermakers. It was really weird being in Alexander Field shooting for the opposing team. On the other hand I know this Indiana State team a little now so it was not so weird. It was nice to photograph ISU without having a long drive to get there. I was at the park in less than ten minutes so you really can’t beat that. Indiana State took the early lead, and held on for another big road win over a Big Ten foe.
Beautiful Alexander Field
This was my first time in Alexander Field this season. This has been a long off season waiting for Purdue to come home. Last week I was not able to make either of the games so it was great to see the new uniforms in person. As the sun was going down the true beauty of Alexander Field really started to show. I made a point to make a photo of the stadium during the blue hour. This is truly a special stadium, and I need to show it off a little more when I am in attendance.
Photographing the Boilers
Baseball is probably the easiest sport to shoot for both teams. While I was not shooting for Purdue during the game there were times where I had a good shot of a Boiler so I took it. This weekend I would like to get out to see the team take on Indiana. The last time that I saw these two teams play was during the Big Ten Championship season of 2012 for Purdue. It would be nice to see Purdue in Bloomington later this year as well.
Photographing Against Purdue
It is never easy to root against Purdue. I would not say that I was rooting against them last night, but for me to have a successful photo gallery my team has to have some success. On the way to the stadium I realized that a 14 inning game that was called for weather was the best case scenario for me. Luckily at this point I only will be shooting in Alexander for the other team one other time this season.
What’s Up Next?
On these sports posts I like to talk about what sporting event is up next for me. Right now that is very much in doubt. As I write this I plan on shooting the Indiana State softball game in Indy this afternoon. With the way that the weather looks right now I very much doubt that will happen. Once the weekend hits that is up in the air as well. I would like to catch at least one of the baseball games this weekend. I also have a football related shoot Saturday morning with hopefully the spring game after that. This time of the year the weather can really make the schedule interesting.
