Indiana State Wins to Advance in the MVC Tournament

Yesterday I was in Terre Haute, Indiana to cover the first round MVC tournament game for Indiana State. I knew that at some point some emotion would come out because of the tense environment. What I didn’t expect was the full regulation, two overtimes, and the full shootout before a winner was declared. I made some images that I liked during the match today, but it was the images just after the game that I liked the most. The raw emotion that the players displayed was great, and really made the trip worth it for me. In the next couple of weeks I will be making a few more trips to Indiana State to cover some events. I have a feeling by the end of the year I will know my way down there very well.

The game was so good between Indiana State and Drake that I made an Exposure page. You can find that page here. As I was putting the gallery together I realized just how much of it was the emotion at the end. I wanted to show the jube though so it all stayed in the gallery. As a photographer you live for these moments so it was great to run onto the field with the team after the win. The Sycamores have a tough test ahead of them on Friday as they travel to Illinois State to play the Redbirds.

The Week In Photos

This week was a good week for me. It started at the beginning of the week with both girls having showtime at their dance classes allowing me to make a few images of them. Fall parties at my daughters school also allowed me to make some nice photos during the week. When the weekend came I shot four different sports in three days. Those three days allowed me to make some images that I really liked. You had a walk off in a baseball game, a win over a ranked opponent in volleyball, a beautiful Saturday for college football, and the emotional tournament win for Indiana State. It was a fun week to shoot, and you can see my favorite images from the week here.
