Seeing the Head of the Charles Regatta Up Close
While in Boston I really tried to get away from sports for a few days, but of course I couldn’t. I had done some homework prior to my trip and saw that the Head of the Charles Regatta was going on while I was in town. After lunch on Sunday I walked along the Charles to see the regatta in person. I made a couple of photos early on at around 1/1000th of a second, but quickly realized that this was a sport best shot by dragging the shutter. I went down to 1/40th of a second, and slowly moved down from there. The photo above was made at 1/25th of a second. I love the way that it makes the water look, and it also makes the athletes pop a little more. With limited time I did not spend too much on the race, but it was very fun to see.
The Week in Photos
Some of my favorite images from the last week can be found here. A lot of my photos from a trip to Fenway in Boston appear in the Exposure page. I also have a few photos from the Charles in there as well. Most of the gallery though is filled with my view on the Back Bay portion of Boston.
