The Lafayette Aviators Open Up Their Home Season At Loeb Stadium
Last night was an anticipated night in the community as the Lafayette Aviators opened up their home season at Loeb Stadium. A large crowd turned out to watch the home team pull out to an early lead to take the win. Last season I worked for the sister club to the Aviators, the Kokomo Jackrabbits. The city came out to support that team, and it looks like Lafayette will do the same here.
The Purdue Connection
Two Evans make up the Purdue connection on this team. Evan Warden played for the Kokomo Jackrabbits last season as he was preparing to transfer to Purdue. He was the starting shortstop last night. Evan Kennedy also plays for the Purdue Boilermakers during the college season. Evan Warden made some nice plays in the field and pitched the ninth inning. Evan Kennedy hit the first home run in Aviators history in the second inning. His two run bomb opened the game up for the Aviators. It was nice to see the two Boilermakers have a nice night.
Here are a few other photos from opening night that I liked. It was a fun night at a great ballpark.
