Purdue Takes Sole Possession of First Place in the Big Ten
Last night I was finally able to get back into Mackey Arena to see the Purdue women play. I have wanted to see them a lot more often then I have been able to this year, but something always gets in the way. Sunday for instance I knew that I would not miss that game. Of course just a couple of hours before the tip something came up, and I missed that historic game. In a way last night was a great night as well because with the win and an Ohio State loss Purdue gained sole possession of first place in the Big Ten. It is still early in the season, but they are right where they need to be already. They play at Ohio State Sunday in a game that could help them put a little distance on the competition. That would be a fun game to attend. Maybe one of the buses has room for one more to Columbus.
A Team Effort
Purdue came within a free throw of having five players score in double digits last night. It really seemed like everyone was there to contribute which is a great thing if you are going to compete for a league title. Senior April Wilson likes to distribute the ball, but when the game is on the line she really steps her game up. She was a big part of the 31 point fourth quarter that helped Purdue pull away from Minnesota. This team is fun to watch. They deserve a huge crowd when they return home next week to face Nebraska.
Below are a few bonus photos that I liked from the game. I also made an Exposure page that you can find here. It was a fun night in Mackey, and I thought that an Exposure page was in order.
