Indiana State Football 52 – Butler 17

Yesterday my college football season started down in Terre Haute, Indiana. I was there to cover the game between the Indiana State Sycamores and the Butler Bulldogs. This was a great way to get the rust off before Purdue starts their season next week. This was my first time on the campus of Indiana State, and my first trip to Terre Haute in twenty years. I was not sure what to expect when I arrived at the stadium, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was a seamless experience from start to finish getting onto the field. Speaking of seamless the Sycamore offense looked pretty good as they put a hurting on Butler 52-17. Butler had some moments during the game, but for the most part it was all ISU. As I watched the Sycamores put a hurting on Butler I thought ahead to next week when Indiana State will visit Purdue. The result for ISU should be reversed showing just how much things can change from one week to the next. Of course that game has yet to be played so we will see.

Great Light After the Rain

The past couple of days seem like a repeat to some extent. After a rain I am treated to some great light. Friday night at soccer a light rain gave way to a brilliant sky. Yesterday the game was stopped twice within four minutes of gametime for lightning. The second delay was much longer than the first, but when play resumed it did so under a beautiful golden light. I had thoughts of leaving just before halftime during the second delay, but the light kept me at the stadium. As usual I was glad that I stayed because I was able to make some photos that I really liked. I am used to shooting noon starts at Purdue. It was nice to shoot a college game in the late day sun.

Below are a few bonus pictures that I liked from the game. As I said above I had a lot of scoring to shoot as well as some great light to work with at the end of the game. It was a great day to be out shooting football, and I hope it is the first of many great Saturdays this season. I had a few photos that I liked from the game. I also have created an Exposure page showcasing even more photos from the game.
