Ready For Some Baseball

I am in trouble because it is only mid January, and I am already for spring. The thought of warm weather and photographing baseball is a great one. Winter sports are great, but they just are not sports that I have really followed for a long time. The lone exception is hockey, and I have to drive a long way to see that. I love the symmetry and perfection of baseball. Add in a couple of new opportunities to photograph minor league baseball, and I cannot wait. I have found a couple of places where I can have a cool one day road trip to see a lot of baseball. I am sorry if you don’t like baseball photos, but this might be the year to see them on the blog.

About the Photo

When I had the Canon 100mm macro lens rented I had some fun photographing some things around the house. I am sure that macro photography is like all of the other kinds that I found early on. I used it on way too many things, and some things that really didn’t need to be photographed up close. A baseball with the seems and the texture though seemed like the perfect subject. I first used the 100mm macro at a basketball game. Last March a fellow photographer loaned me his for a game. It was very fast focusing so I wanted to try it out in a couple of other situations. I will have more on the lens later in another blog post.
