Tracking the Motion

Today I shot my first sporting event of the year. An early season track meet indoors at Purdue. I have been itching to get out this week, and today was the perfect opportunity. I will shoot a basketball game tonight, but I just needed to get out of the house this afternoon. I decided that instead of shooting the event normal that I would just go in with a low shutter speed to see what would happen. If I did not get the shot it did not matter since I was just shooting for myself. What I noticed was how still the athletes kept most of their body. The above shot was made at 1/40th of a second during a 60 yard dash. This was a fun exercise that gave me some unique photos.

Bonus Photos

Here are a couple of photos that I liked from the meet as well. I will put a few more in an album on my website here when I get a chance.
