Taking the Train In

Photo of the Day

This is a view that I have seen a few times, but never photographed. When I lived in Northwest Indiana I used to take the train into town all of the time. As I was walking around the other day I realized that this was the first view of Chicago that I would have on the train. I thought that it might make a good picture if it was dirtied up a bit. The clouds were already ominous so why not make the whole scene that way?

Technical Data

For this photo I went back to the HDR Look preset in Lightroom. It really does get me close to where I want to be most times very quickly. From there I just had to get rid of some spots in the sky. The rain earlier really dirtied my lens so I had a little work to do there. Other than that it was just a matter of sending the photo out to be published.
