Art on the Wabash

Photo of the Day

A couple of days ago I made a trip to the Wabash to look for eagles once again. I think that this year my best bet to see an eagle will be at the zoo. What I did see thought was the shelves of ice that have been laying on the shore of the river really melting down. This one was by itself and looked like an ice sculpture. The river really has been through a lot this winter. It was completely frozen over leaving many of the trees on the edge scarred. Right now it is a sight to see for sure. I don’t know that it ever really clears up to make good pictures, but right now anything that I take down there will be in black and white form.

Technical Data

I used the HDR in black and white preset to start off here because of the nature of the area that I was in. The cloudy sky mixed with the muddy Wabash river did not add to the photo. Taking the color out of the photo was a plan from square one. After that I adjusted the whites and blacks in the photo. I also dialed down the clarity that is in the preset just a bit.
