Photo of the Day
At the end of July I was in Ocean City, Maryland with the family. I spent a couple of mornings up way too early waiting for the sun to rise. On my second day I was rewarded with this glorious sunrise. I had my tripod a bit up the beach making a picture when I decided to use my little point and shoot to make one closer to the water. When I saw the back of my screen I knew that I had to move my tripod down closer to the water. This little tool was a good way to test out a location without moving all my gear. I was taking a 30 second exposure at the time anyway so I really had some time to kill. On a whim I decided to process this in Lightroom, and I was floored by the result. I think that I actually like this photo more than the photo that I took with my expensive rig. Sometimes the gear does not make the picture for sure.
Technical Data
This was a handheld shot with a point and shoot so I didn’t want to do too much to the jpeg file. I used a preset in Lighroom called ‘the HDR look’ by Matt Kloskowski. I just needed a couple of tweaks after applying the preset before this was ready to post. This was a very easy way to make a picture, and it makes you wonder about the 70 pound back of gear that I was carrying that day.

The majestic Sun rises with strength, making the sky red as amber and the waves reflect the scene, doubles the effect of grandeur and awe. Captured by eye , the perfect setting.
Thank you for those kind words
