Finally Seeing Heywood Banks
For years I have wanted to see Heywood Banks live. He has come to my town, but it always seems like we have been gone when he was here. Saturday night we finally had the chance to see him live in Delphi. He is my kind of silly. When I am doing some chore like dishes I will put Heywood on to cheer me up and make the task fun. I was worried that after a couple of decades of wanting to see him live that he might not live up to the hype that I had put on the show. He started off by riffing a song about a patron who drove eight hours to see the show. That pretty much told me that I was in for some fun on the night. Heywood did not disappoint. In our house Heywood is known as the silly guy that dad listens to. Hearing my youngest singing one of his songs on the way home made me feel like we had a convert. If you get a chance to see Heywood do so.
Using The Sony RX100
Prior to the concert I sent in a request to photograph the show like I always do. I sent one about a month before the show, and then another the week of the show to the venue. For some reason lately people just don’t feel the need to get back to me. That meant that I couldn’t take my good gear into the show. We had a great seat that I could have shot from without blocking anyones view. That is too bad. This is a cool venue, and I wish that more people could have seen the view that I had. The Sony RX100 is a good camera, but it just doesn’t give me the pixels that I need for a venue like this. One of these days maybe I can photograph inside of the opera house.
