Blue Hour At Buckingham Fountain

I made this photo a few years ago while on a photowalk in Chicago with Trey Ratcliff. I owe a ton of my early photography and the base of what I do to Trey. He was the inspiration for many things including this blog. The two paragraph format is basically copying what he did on his blog. Getting to walk around Chicago with him was really cool. There were hundreds of us, but he really found a way to make everyone feel like they had a personal interaction with him. That is a great skill to have. This was a fun night that let me make this photo with many of my favorite Chicago landmarks in it.

Speaking of inspirations. On the way to this meet up I was listening to the Fro Knows Photo podcast. I used to always listen to photography podcasts while on the road. As I was entering Chicago I heard them talking about my friend Trevor. I couldn’t wait to get to my parking spot to get to tell Trevor. I always knew that Trevor was destined for big things, and this was the start of his rise. I always put these two events together when I see these photos.

50 For 50

This is going to be a crazy theme. For the next fifty days I plan on posting a photo of a place that has some meaning to me. Last August I came up with a theme for a week showing some Purdue memories. At the end of this fifty days I will turn fifty. I thought that it would be fun to take a look back at some places that bring back memories for me. This can’t be an all inclusive list, but one that I hope will be fun for you as well as me.
