Schreiber Field
As a kid there was no cooler place to be in LaPorte than Schreiber Field. The Slicers were always a great team. Growing up they won state titles and even one national title. When I was in middle school I was even able to help run the manual scoreboard in center field. That was probably the coolest thing that a middle school kid could do. My friend Ryan made it happen, and at the time I just knew that even though I was not playing baseball at the time that I would play on this field, and then of course for the White Sox. That did not happen, but This was still a place to be. This board out front of the stadium I don’t think has changed much since then. At least when I made this photo it had not.
50 For 50
This is going to be a crazy theme. For the next fifty days I plan on posting a photo of a place that has some meaning to me. Last August I came up with a theme for a week showing some Purdue memories. At the end of this fifty days I will turn fifty. I thought that it would be fun to take a look back at some places that bring back memories for me. This can’t be an all inclusive list, but one that I hope will be fun for you as well as me.
