The Westfield Carnegie Library

The Westfield Carnegie Library

A couple of weeks ago we were staying in Noblesville and I woke up early to drive a little ways down the road to see this old library. It is now a printing business, but at one time it was part of the Carnegie Library system. There are a few of these libraries left that still serve as a library, but a lot end up like this one has. It is now repurposed, but luckily still standing.

Another Carnegie Library On The Blog

For the past couple of years I have had a fun time finding these Carnegie Libraries while traveling. So far I have not really gone terribly far out of my way to find any libraries. I just find the ones that are close to where I am traveling. This one was just a few minutes down the road from where we were staying. This is the 38th different Carnegie Library that I have found in the last two years. That sounds like a lot, but Inidana has 146 of them. I have a long way to go to find them all in my state. Then of course you know that I will start to look outside the borders of Indiana. It is a fun project that is definitely a long term one.
