Saying Goodbye To A Landmark

For years I have stood on this corner and photographed Roth Florist in different conditions. This snowy day in Lafayette was a perfect time to make this photo, and remember how great this building was. You have the windows still full of Christmas decorations. The blue nature of the photo kind of mirrors my mood right now about this place being gone.

A Crazy Post

One of the local downtown businesses posted on Instagram last week showing all of the vacancies downtown that used to have great businesses in them. Roth Florist was the lead image of his post. Lately you can see that downtown is starting to thin out a little. Places that were staples have suddenly moved or shut down. I have heard rumors about rent going up too much. If that is the case how much is that building earning sitting there empty? Downtown is a little sadder now that we have lost some of the great businesses along it.
