Trying Out A New Filter
A couple of weeks ago I purchased a filter that will soften my images a little. It seems crazy to think that you would buy an expensive camera with all of the megapixels, and then do something to undo those megapixels. When I bought the Promaster Soft A filter I did with just that in mind. I really wanted that crazy look that it would give me on lights and signs. Here I think that it makes the lights in the photo more interesting.
The ‘Normal’ Photo
Above I have the same scene without the filter on the lens. Everything is a little sharper including the sign on the building and the interior lights. I really like the look of the lights in the first photo, but the sharpness everywhere else. The thought behind this filter is to use it on lights and signs, and then combine those lights into my ‘normal’ photo. By combining the two I will have the best of both worlds.
