The Hooded Warbler At The Celery Bog

A Surprise From The Hooded Warbler

I was standing in a spot where I made a lot of warbler photos last year when I saw a hooded warbler off to my right. This is only the second time ever that I have seen this bird. The first time was a couple of years ago and the bird was very far away. This one was fairly close to me and it stayed out in the open for quite some time bouncing around from one side of the trail to the other. It eventually took off never to be seen again, but it was a cool couple of moments.

Always Wanting More

If you had told me that I would have made this photo when I left the house I would have taken it. Of course once I was in the field everything changes. Right when it popped out onto this branch the sun went away. It would have been lit beautifully and allowed me to crop in a bit more. As it was I had to quickly adjust my settings to make this photo. The good thing about photography is that you can always improve on a photo. I will have to keep my eye out this week to try and make a better photo than this.
