Have Your Cake And Eat It Too

Birthday cake is always the best kind of cake to eat. It is part of the party and everyone is usually in a great mood. Yesterday was no different as we celebrated my oldest. I tried to not have the camera out too much, but the combination of light and a cool cake made it come out more than normal.

How Fast Things Change

I came into my step daughters life just after she turned three. It was kind of funny hearing all of the memories people had of her birth yesterday. I was in a completely different place in many ways. I was on my way home from the Daytona 500. We had a fun few days in Florida in the lead up to the race. Back here in Lafayette my now wife was started a long labor process. It is amazing to think of how fast things changed for both of us in those next three years. Everything happens for a reason, and that reason led me to where I am today.
