An Amazing Weekend
This was a great weekend filled with four basketball games in three days. Every game had its own reason why it was great. I was able to watch the Harrison girls basketball team win two games on their way to a sectional title. It was their first sectional title since the 1985-86 season. I was in fourth grade at the time waiting for the new Huey Lewis and the News album to drop. I photographed the Harrison boys team at Central Catholic on Saturday as well. It was the first time that I was in that gym since 2015. On Sunday it was the perfect cap to the weekend. The first sellout in Mackey Arena for the Purdue women’s team since I was in school. I was at the previous sellout so it was cool to be back in there. This was a great way to end the celebration for National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Of course every day is a good time to celebrate women in sports so why not come out to the next game as well? They play at home on Sunday so why not make it two weekends in a row with the Boilers? This was a lot of basketball this weekend, but the season is winding down so I have to get it in while I can.
