The Winter Birds Are Here

The winter birds have arrived in the backyard studio. No bird says winter more to me than the dark-eyed junco. I still have no idea how you say this name out loud, but I have photographed it for a few years now. Yesterday during a brief snow shower I made a couple of photos of it in the backyard. A little green with the snow was too good to pass up.

As winter gets closer the photographic subjects become fewer for me. The backyard birds take a much bigger role in the blog. Photographing these little guys helps me stay sharp as far as my sports photography goes. If you can keep these little things in frame than the much larger athletes seem much easier.
