Trying Something New

This fall while on a bike ride with my little one I came across an interesting leaf while we were stopped. I put it in my pocket for some reason. By the end of our bike ride the front pocket of my hoodie was stuffed full of leaves. I had this idea for some fun with my macro lens. As I kept the project going it evolved a little as I learned what I liked. At the end of the day I had some fun and I learned some new things about my equipment. For a photography project you can’t ask for much more.

I came up with this idea far too late in the fall to include every leaf. I have some ideas for next year that will move this project along a little faster and have some more variation in it. Here are a few of the photos that I made this year.  As you scroll you can kind of see the evolution of my thinking with this project as well.
