A Bald Eagle Waiting For The Opportunity

Last week I was lucky enough to drive up and find a bald eagle not far from where I was parked. I stopped along the Wabash to see if they were across the river where they normally are. Imagine my surprise when I saw one in the next tree over on my side of the river. It was close enough that I was able to have some fun making some tighter compositions.

Another photographer pulled up in the lot, and the eagle took a second to look them over before looking back towards the river. That little bit was all that I needed to make a nice clean portrait of the eagle. Sometimes you can plan what you want to do, but you need a little luck to help you get it done.
