More On My Morning With The Owls

Yesterday was really a great morning. I love making photos of owls, and I had two very willing owls that let me make photos of them for about an hour. It was much longer than I was anticipating, and I am grateful for that. The morning light was beautiful, and after the last couple of weeks it was just good to be out of the house for a while.

Showing More Than The Owl

We all want that tightly cropped photo of the owl for our portfolio. I also like the idea of showing some of the habitat and if possible another owl in my photos. I learned this when making eagle photos. They just look better when another eagle is in the background. Here the third owl showed up in the background to make this a photo that I liked. You have a bit of the scene from the day all in one photo. When I am done photographing the owls I would like to have a photo story on them. Having more photos that show the habitat will help tell that story.
