The Northern Flicker At The Celery Bog

The Northern Flicker Poses For Me

Last September this northern flicker gave me a few good angles of it as it ate the berries off of this tree. I was in a special spot for another bird in the other direction, but when I heard the rustling I turned around to find this flicker. Sometimes you just get lucky.

Take What You Are Given

I know that I say it a lot, but in photography sometimes you just have to take what you are given. The heron that I was looking for was nowhere to be found. This flicker on the other hand gave me a good opportunity in good light. Photography has taught me that you have to be patient sometimes, and that the opportunity is not always what you expect it to be. That is good advice in life as well.
