30 Days Of Baseball Photos: #29 Ground Ball To Short

The Beauty Of The Colt World Series

I found this great tournament just a little too late. I was only able to attend a couple of them before they left town. This little tournament was a source of great baseball during the summer. The Aviators filled that summer void, but the tournament atmosphere is hard to beat. I loved the fact that kids came from all over the globe to play baseball in my town. It was a great thing. I wish that the tournament had waited before leaving. The new Loeb Stadium would have been a great place for this tournament.

A Familiar Face

I always liked this photo. The red, white, and blue of the uniform was great. The light on the player was good too. The background was one that I always liked. At some point a couple of years after making the photo I realized that I had a familiar face in the frame. Current Purdue baseball player Tyler Powers in his high school days. I always liked how the photo looked, but now of course it is just a bit cooler.
